Blog Posting

Home page - Latest News

Part A is a single spotlighted post.

This slot is reserved for an article covering an announcement or upcoming event. A published blog post will appear here when the TAG = ʻhomepageʻ is applied to the blog post.

It works because the Summary panel for Part A has a filter applied to only look for blog posts with TAG = ʻhomepageʻ. Only one blog post at a time should have the ʻhomepageʻ TAG.

To remove a spotlighted post, remove the ʻhomepageʻ TAG from the blog article.

Part B are a group of featured items.

These featured items appear as a carousel as there can be more than one. This is achieved by setting the FEATURED toggle to enabled on any published blog post.

It works because the Summary panel for Part B is filtered looking for items where FEATURED blog posts.

To remove a featured post, toggle FEATURED to disabled on the blog item.

Supporters Page

Supporters News

Blog articles on the Supporters page appear when a published blog article has CATEGORY = ʻSupporterʻ. There can be multiple Supporters articles on this page. Only 3 will be displayed on a widescreen format. A visitor can scroll using the arrows provided.

It works because the Summary panel on the Supporters page is filtered to look for blog posts where CATEGORY = ʻSupporterʻ.

To remove a Supporters News post, remove CATEGORY = ʻSupporterʻ from the relevant blog post.

All published blog articles, irrespective of Featured, Category or Tag can be viewed here. Blog articles can be deleted to remove them from the website (though a better practice is to let them age for SEO purposes)

Newsletter Signup

Email capture to build marketing lists

A Newsletter signup window will "pop up" after 5 seconds of a visitor being on one of these pages:

  • Vision

  • About

  • Supporters

  • News

A visitor provides their email and joins an e-mail marketing list. The visitor must confirm this “subscription” via an automated email message sent to the email used for sign-up. If no confirmation, then the subscriber is not added to the list.

The e-mail marketing list is hosted by SquareSpace. There is a function to import names to the list if desired.
