Fundraising on track to $25,000!

Thanks to a generous gift of $2,000 from the State Council of Hawaiian Congregational Churches, the Punahoa Heritage Forest is about to reach 25% of their 2022 fundraising goal. A new supporter has also been secured to help raise awareness and interest in the Punahoa Heritage Forest initiative, an initiative which is being led by the Pūʻā Foundation.

At the State Council's board meeting held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, unanimous approval was given to contribute $2,000 in support of the Punahoa Heritage Forest. State Council has 48 member churches from Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, and Hawaii Island, and are proud supporters of the values and ideals represented in the vision and mission of Punahoa Heritage Forest.

Toni Bissen is the person overseeing kick-off of the fundraising efforts for the Punahoa Heritage Forest. She was delighted with the early progress and how the mission of the Punahoa Heritage Forest is resonating with many Hawaiian churches.
